WearCare - an optional program

Under normal driving conditions and with routine preventative maintenance, you should be able to avoid excess wear and use charges on your vehicle. But, if you purchase WearCare at lease inception and your vehicle displays dings and scratches beyond the accepted level at lease-end, the WearCare program can help you avoid up to $2,500 in additional fees*. It pays to purchase WearCare!

Here's a comparison of "normal wear and use" vs. "WearCare waiver of excess wear and use":

(A) Glass (A) All glass damage is chargeable, even small cracks and chips can compromise the safety of the passengers. Refer to your dealer for guidelines. (A) Chargeable glass damage up to the replacement cost of the glass.
(B) Lenses (headlights, tail lights and markers), body molding and trim (B) Lenses (headlights, tail lights and markers), body molding and trim dings, dents, scratches and/or cracks less than 2 inches. (B) Lenses (headlights, tail lights and markers), body molding and trim dings, dents, scratches and cracks greater than 2 inches.
(C) Interior stains, cuts and tears. (C) Stains, cuts and tears less than 1/2 an inch and stains that can be removed. (C) Stains, cuts and tears that are greater than 1/2 an inch and stains that cannot be removed.
(D) Interior burn holes (D) Burn holes 1/8 of an inch or less in diameter. (D) Burn holes greater than 1/8 of an inch in diameter.
(E) Exterior body panels dings, dents and scratches (E) Exterior body panels: up to three (3) dings or dents per panel with a diameter of 3 1/2 inches or less and up to three (3) scratches per panel that measure 3 1/2 inches or less in length. (E) Exterior body panels: four (4) or more dings or dents per panel with a diameter greater than 3 1/2 inches and four (4) or more scratches per panel greater than 3 1/2 inches.

*WearCare waives chargeable damage with the following conditions:

  • If the vehicle has been driven less than an average of 25,000 miles per year, we will waive the total responsibility for excess wear and use charges at scheduled lease-end, up to a maximum of $2,500.
  • If the vehicle has been driven an average of 25,001 miles or more per year, we will waive half of the customer's responsibility for excess wear and use charges at scheduled lease-end, up to a maximum of $1,250.
